The White Clay Soccer Club is a travel soccer program that provides an opportunity for qualified players to compete at a higher level of competition with players of similar abilities from other clubs in the region. Identification of these players is through a annual tryout process, and participation is a one-year commitment.
Teams are formed by age groups and represent the White Clay Soccer Club in local leagues including the Delco Soccer League for boys and the Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer League ( PAGS ) for girls. League play takes place in the fall and spring, while some teams also choose to play in indoor leagues in the winter. White Clay teams are also encouraged to play in regional tournaments.
Teams in the U9 & U10 age groups play 7 v 7, U11 & U12 play 9 v 9 on smaller fields, while older age groups U13 and above play 11 v 11 on regulation-size fields. The White Clay SC's home field for U9-U12 teams is at New Garden Township Field Complex, located at 299 Starr Road, Landenberg, PA and Avon Grove High School for 11v11 teams. Practices are generally twice a week in the fall and the spring and are held at local township parks, including New Garden Township Park, Nichol Park, Crossan Park, and Londonderry Township Park. Avon Grove High School turf fields and Cornerstone Presbyterian Church fields are also used by teams.
Coaches in the White Clay Soccer Club are required to hold or commit to working toward a coaching license through the U.S. Soccer Federation, and have experience in not only the sport of soccer but also in coaching and relating to children. All of our coaches are required to be CPR/First Aid certified.
