Kick for Nick

Thanks all who helped with the Kick for Nick Service Project.  We had representatives from all our teams. with almost 30 kids and coaches participating in deflating, signing, and boxing over 160 balls which will be distributed by US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan on behalf of PFC Nick Madaras and the Kick for Nick organization.

The Avon Grove Sun did a nice article on the project.

White Clay Soccer Club has decided to participate in a service project to send soccer balls to Iraq.  This is part of a national campaign called "Kick For Nick" which honors the memory of a fallen soldier, Private Nick Madaras, who was a soccer player, youth coach, and youth referee.  The balls get deflated and packaged to send to American soldiers stationed in Iraq, who then distribute them to youth soccer players.  More information about the national campaign can be found here: http://www.kickfornick.org

We are looking for players to volunteer to help deflate the balls, write Nick's name on each, and package them.  If your son/daughter can participate, even for 30 minutes, please let me know so I can get a count of who is coming.

Also, have your son/daughter wear their jersey, and if you have any used soccer balls you wish to donate, feel free to bring those along.  Right now we have close to 100 balls to send overseas.
